해설) (연구 구문 4)의 강조 구문의 변형.

예문에서는 (It was not until ---- that...)을 제거하면 Yesterday I learned the news.로 된다.

It was not until the 15th century that it became possible to produce books quickly and cheaply.

(15세기가 되어서야 비로소 책을 빠르고 값싸게 만들어내는 것이 가능해졌다.)

It was not until I got off the train that I realized my purse had been stolen.

(열차에서 내려서야 비로소 지갑이 도난 당한 것을 알았다.)

강조하지 않는 글에서는

→I did not realize my purse had been stolen until I got off the train.으로 된다.
